Bed Box Beginnings

I have had a 1991 Ford Aerostar minivan for a while, now. For whatever  reason it continues to run very well, for which I'm grateful.

I've driven it for many years after rescuing it from being towed with a re-built starter. Then adding a muffler and exhaust system, a radiator, brakes, etc. And it has rewarded my attention to it by....well....running.

I blame a school chum for sparking my interest in making/re-doing it a Camper Van. Really, it is a sound financial choice as I didn't know how I could afford a truck to haul my 5th wheel "tiny home" travel trailer.

I helped a friend move his friend's daughter out of her home. My friend got to keep a choice quantity of items she couldn't take with her. Part of that multi-trip haul was "knock-down" furniture.

That furniture, along with some new lumber, became the basis for the "bed box" I built for the back of the Aerostar:

The light wood is new. The medium and dark pieces are from the "knock-down" stuff that was shelving units, an under-bed platform, and a TV/AV Unit (shown next page).
